Science, research and monitoring of yellow-eyed penguins / hoiho
The Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust has traditionally concentrated on coastal habitat protection and monitoring, however with an increasing awareness of threats in the marine environment, more research effort is also required, particularly concerning marine issues.
Science and research now takes more of a front seat, using monitoring and marking data collected on hoiho to support the research programmes and learn more about the birds and the impacts that they face.
